RED HAIR
So now that I have a new hair color. I decided to make a short post about it. Getting to this point was a real battle but I finally did it! I wanted to post these pics so I can rant and rave about how well Manic Panic and Special Effects semi- permanent dye is. I read in a few places that the longer you leave these dyes on the better they work. Well I am impressed. I left a mix of the two dyes on overnight (yes 6+ hours) and I am impressed with the amazing results! Now just to let you know my hair was already a copper color from my red permanent dye washing out.
please let me know if you guys want more info on the colors and all of the process it took to get my hair this red and I will post more info. I have a lot of tips and tricks for making natural dark hair red!

Just so you know, despite your love with manic panic, the reason your Pravana didn't turn out the way you thought and ended up being darker is a result of your use of manic panic. Manic panic is made up of polymers (chains of molecules with rubber, human tissue, etc) that permanantly wrap around your hair strand. Once it is on, it is there till it's cut. Pravana is a direct pigment of color, it penetrates your hair strand and lasts longer but was not able to because of the already residing polymer color on your hair (the manic panic). Therefore, you were just putting color on top of color which made your hair darker and let the pravana slide right of the strands within a few amount of shampoos. Honestly, I'd tell you to let whatever hair has the manic panic or other polymers grow out, seeing as how you can not bleach it out, then try again with your pravana red. It really is a great brand and color if it's put on the right kind of hair.
